Museum Schwab, Biel

"With its façade and small, well-maintained park, the Museum Schwab, opened in 1873, is worth a look by itself. Designed as a museum from the start, it houses a large collection of objects that bear witness to the history of the Three-Lakes Region and the life of its first inhabitants. The archaeological finds on display date back to the beginning of the Stone Age. In particular, the museum documents the technical advances achieved by mankind, from the production of flint blades to bronze blades, followed by the weapons and tools of the Iron Age and the second Iron Age. So you can see how our ancestors and their way of life evolved until the Roman era."
